SUMMARY:WHAM 2026 Slow Riding Day
DESCRIPTION:WHAM Slow Riding Day Our most popular training day of the year – held once again at Madley Industrial Estate near Hereford. A must for Associates and recommended for full members\, especially those who have recently passed their test. Slow riding is an important skill and our Slow Riding day gives WHAM Members a chance to practice in a safe environment and have fun at the same time. \nThere will be a slalom course\, figure-of-eights and our famous obstacle course. The afternoon session will up the pace with a chance to practice emergency braking and counter steering. \nThis excellent day culminates in a very competitive slow ride between the start and finish line\, and the winner is\, (yes you guessed it) the slowest rider of the day. This lucky individual gets to hold the Slow riding trophy for the rest of the year. \nPlease arrive promptly on the day\, it is a great day out in good company and a bit of banter too\, what’s not to like. See you there! \nOpen to all WHAM Members and Associates – refreshments in the form of soft drinks\, cakes and sandwiches provided for a small charity contribution. \n  \n \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Starts at the Shell Filling Station at Starbucks Wooferton\, meet at 08:30 to organise riding groups for a 09:00 start. \n\n\n\nStarting from Wooferton\, we head to the Trout Inn in Beulah for a petrol stop (grab a quick bottle of water from the garage) via the Sennybridge ranges.\nWe then do the Devils Staircase and Lynn Brianne loop to our lunch stop at the Owls Nest in Llandovery.\nThe route then takes us over the military ranges to Tirabad\, finishing at Crossgates for a coffee then head home.\n\n\n\n NOTE: Our ride-outs are for WHAM Full Members only. SUMMARY:WHAM Day Ride - Aberdovey via Mountain Roads
DESCRIPTION:Starting at Starbucks Wooferton. \nLeg 1 – Some familiar roads to start with then it gets interesting on the Llanbister road\, ends up at the Halt Cafe south of Rhayader for coffee. \nLeg 2  – Uses some brilliant mountain roads not seen on any of our regular routes. Ends in Aberdovey where we park up in the main carpark. Walker’s Fish and Chip shop over the road from the carpark is recommended for lunch. \nLeg 3 – Heads down to Aberystwyth then avoids the busy A44 in preference to the excellent A4120 to Devils Bridge then over the Elan Valley to the visitor centre for afternoon tea. \nLeg 4 – Back to Wooferton via Builth Wells and Hundred House. \n \n08:30 Arrival for an 09:00 Start \n\nGarmin Format\nGPX Format\nGoogle Maps\n\n

SUMMARY:WHAM North Wales Weekend
DESCRIPTION:WHAM is pleased to announce the return of the epic\nSnowdonia North Wales Weekend. Those of you who\nhave partaken in this excellent weekend know just how\ngood it is\, those that haven’t\, its you big chance to spend\nthree days riding some of the best roads in North\nWales. \nITINERARY\n\nFriday 11th September \nMeet at Starbucks Wooferton @ 10:00 for a 10:30 start. \nLeg 1 takes us to the Lake Vyrnwy Hotel for Brunch (note that the Artisan Cafe has closed). 68 miles. \nLeg 2 goes via Bala\, round the south side of Lake Celyn (much more interesting than the North side) and finishes at the Glan Aber at around 4pm. 52 miles. \n\n\n\nDownload Friday’s GPX Routes\n\n\n\n\nSaturday 12th September \nMeet in the Carpark of the Glan Aber 08:30 for a 09:00 start. \nSaturday Morning’s 70 mile route ( uses the old EVO Triangle roads around Lyn Brenig (watch out for the average speed cameras). Then things get better and better after the right turn through Cerrigydridion. The road to Ffestiniog is a treat\, after which we head on the back  road into Harlech for an early lunch. \nSaturday afternoon returns to the hotel via some of Snowdonia’s best roads and spectacular scenery (53 miles). \nFor those who have not had enough there is an optional 3rd leg on Saturday\, a 43 mile ride around Snowdon. \n\nDownload Saturday’s GPX Routes\n\n\nSunday 13th September. \nMeet in the Carpark of the Glan Aber 08:30 for a 09:00 start. \nThose who opt to blast home on Sunday are really missing out on some little known quiet gems on the route back. \nSunday morning’s route goes back through Capel Curig and then heads for the coast road through Barmouth. Then we go around the estuary to Faibourne (the brave can take a short cut across the old wooden railway bridge\, speak to Matt Dent\, he knows it well). Then we skirt around the south side of Cader Idris on one of the best roads you will find in the UK to the Ty’n y Comel Hotel on the lake for coffee. 74 miles. \nSunday afternoon heads back to Wooferton on more familiar roads. 77 miles. \n\nDownload Sunday’s Routes\n\n\n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n
