SUMMARY:WHAM Exmoor Weekend 2026
DESCRIPTION:Following the success of our weekend trip last June\, we have decided to repeat it as part of the Wham 2026 events calendar. Come and join us for some great roads and company as we explore exciting Exmoor and Tony’s great routes! This years trip will be from 29th-31st May. Meeting on the morning of the 29th\, (possibly Starbucks Tewksbury but TBC)\, staying at the Raleghs Cross Inn for 2 nights\, heading home on the 31st May. We have 17 rooms reserved for us\, (doubles & twins)\, which will be held exclusively for us until the 6th March so please don’t delay\, book yours today!! \nPrices vary depending on single or double occupancy and room type and are on a first come first served basis. Please call the Raleghs Cross directly to book your room on 01984 640343 & quote Wham to gain access to our reservation. Full payment will be taken at time of booking. \nFor those hardier souls\, there are camping facilities that some members used last year & were pleased with. Please note: Once booked\, in the event that you cannot attend\, the booking will be transferable to a future date or to another Wham member if possible. No refunds will be issued. \nI will send out the Raleghs Cross menu closer to the date\, and for those who want to dine there in the evenings\, I will compile a pre-order in April. SUMMARY:WHAM Day Ride - Aberdovey via Mountain Roads
DESCRIPTION:Starting at Starbucks Wooferton. \nLeg 1 – Some familiar roads to start with then it gets interesting on the Llanbister road\, ends up at the Halt Cafe south of Rhayader for coffee. \nLeg 2  – Uses some brilliant mountain roads not seen on any of our regular routes. Ends in Aberdovey where we park up in the main carpark. Walker’s Fish and Chip shop over the road from the carpark is recommended for lunch. \nLeg 3 – Heads down to Aberystwyth then avoids the busy A44 in preference to the excellent A4120 to Devils Bridge then over the Elan Valley to the visitor centre for afternoon tea. \nLeg 4 – Back to Wooferton via Builth Wells and Hundred House. \n \n08:00 Arrival for an 08:30 Start \n\nGarmin Format\nGPX Format\nGoogle Maps\n\n

SUMMARY:WHAM 2026 Slow Riding Day
DESCRIPTION:WHAM Slow Riding Day Our most popular training day of the year – held once again at Madley Industrial Estate near Hereford. A must for Associates and recommended for full members\, especially those who have recently passed their test. Slow riding is an important skill and our Slow Riding day gives WHAM Members a chance to practice in a safe environment and have fun at the same time. \nThere will be a slalom course\, figure-of-eights and our famous obstacle course. The afternoon session will up the pace with a chance to practice emergency braking and counter steering. \nThis excellent day culminates in a very competitive slow ride between the start and finish line\, and the winner is\, (yes you guessed it) the slowest rider of the day. This lucky individual gets to hold the Slow riding trophy for the rest of the year. \nPlease arrive promptly on the day\, it is a great day out in good company and a bit of banter too\, what’s not to like. See you there! \nOpen to all WHAM Members and Associates – refreshments in the form of soft drinks\, cakes and sandwiches provided for a small charity contribution. \n  \n \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Starts at the Shell Filling Station at Starbucks Wooferton\, meet at 08:30 to organise riding groups for a 09:00 start. \n\n\n\nStarting from Wooferton\, we head to the Trout Inn in Beulah for a petrol stop (grab a quick bottle of water from the garage) via the Sennybridge ranges.\nWe then do the Devils Staircase and Lynn Brianne loop to our lunch stop at the Owls Nest in Llandovery.\nThe route then takes us over the military ranges to Tirabad\, finishing at Crossgates for a coffee then head home.\n\n\n\n NOTE: Our ride-outs are for WHAM Full Members only.
