All members are welcome (and encouraged) to attend the planned Slow Riding Day on Saturday 10th April, at Throckmorton Airfield.
You will be able to practise or learn slow handling skills through a variety of slow-riding exercises. All these exercises have been designed to help you in improving your skill levels and boost your confidence in handling your bike at slow speeds.
As well as the 'slow speed exercises' there will be the opportunity to try some braking exercises. Again to build your confidence in your ability, and importantly, your machine's ability to execute hard braking you will practice braking from slow speeds and gradually build-up speed to demonstrate to yourself that you really can trust those brakes to stop you quickly! There will also be some 'fun' events later in the day, where members can pit themselves against each other in some exercises of a more relaxed nature.
Refreshments will be provided (included in the £5 charge for the day). The whole day should prove to be really beneficial to members of all standards. There will be WHAM observers on hand to help with the exercises at all times during the day.
The event starts at 10:00; please plan to arrive by 09:30 so that you have time for briefing and orientation. All those interested in attending are asked to email Steve, our Events Co-ordinator by Friday 2nd April so we can plan numbers.
Location: The Airfield entrance is north of the A44 Wyre Piddle by-pass just off Long Lane and between the villages of Throckmorton and Tilesford.
From the West approach from the traffic lights at Pinvin. From the East approach via Throckmorton Road.
